Choosing an idea or concept for your business is exciting and fun to do. This is when you at last get to put all the ideas you have about starting your new business into an actual business concept. Give yourself a number of options to work over. Some will be great and some won’t fit. Get more than one so you always have a back up when you start a home business.
Three sources of ideas:
· Your hobby: If you have something you love to do it is very likely that it is something you can build a business out of. Choosing something that you are passionate about and love to do will help you to enjoy your business. There are very few hobbies that you cannot build a business around.
· Your experiences: In life we go though many experiences and you can use these to build a business. For example if you have raised children you can then put all your parenting experience together and start a business related to parenting.
· Your talents: Everyone has one or more talents within them. Dig down and see what yours are. You can start a freelance business using your talents.
Defining your niche market:
1. List a number of ideas, put them in order of preference
2. Go to the site listed here and put a key word into the overture suggestion tool box: You will then see how many searches were done for that word and thus will know the demand.
3. Put your same keyword into Google search engine. This will bring up any websites related to the keyword and will represent supply.
4. If you find a topic that is demanded in quantity but low in the suppliers, you will then make money. This should be your special market for which you do your niche marketing. With a niche market, you can reduce the competition and perhaps can even do away with it. Go through your list of concepts you have for a business and find which of those ideas would make a good specialized market and narrow it down to about five only. Then go through those five and work out the best niche market for you.
Establishing your USP:
Once you have found the concept that fits into a specialized or niche market it is time to establish your USP, Unique, Selling, Point. This is when you will take your idea, and see how you will make your business uniquely different from your competitors. Often neglected, finding the USP is something that new business owners need to do to set their item above the competition. Online businesses are very competitive and you have to stay ahead of the game.
It’s vital to set yourself up as much different from your competition and here are two reasons why:
1. To get ahead of the competition
2. To clearly define to your potential customers why your product and service is better than your competitors.
Deciding on your business model:
Consolidate your ideas, by all means, but also choose the business model to follow. Here are a couple:
· Affiliate marketing-You can target your market by joining affiliate systems.
· Network marketing (MLM)- again this will target your market and idea.
· Marketing-taking the product and selling it
· Service- using your talents. This will also include doing freelance work.
As you can see there are a few steps you will need to take in order to define your business concept. It is worth your while to take some care and plan well, as this is the foundation of your business.
You can do it the easy way or the hard way…the hard way is to do it all yourself, including finding the right niche market or the easy way, copy what other successful marketers are already doing. For the easy way go to a href=http://build-ebusiness-on-a-shoestring.comHow To Make Money Online/a
